An octave underneath, felt not heard
An octave underneath, felt rather than heard: a sub-octave follower with its own level, the dry signal beside it, and a TONE that sets where the sub sits. What puts a sampler's weight under a chip kick.
Four to a socket, in order: sound runs through the slots top to bottom. Open the box and every knob is in real units; BYPASS takes it out of the path without losing its settings; the presets are along the top; any knob learns a controller and gets an automation lane.
| Knob | Range | Starts at | Scale |
|---|---|---|---|
| SUB | 0 to 1 | 0.5 | linear |
| DRY | 0 to 1 | 1 | linear |
| TONE | 50 Hz to 400 Hz | 120 Hz | log |
Every box ships with a bank. AS SET is the knobs as you left them; the rest are starting points, each a sound someone wanted often enough to name. Star one and it sits at the front of the bank.
| Preset | SUB | DRY | TONE |
|---|---|---|---|
| SUB | 0.5 | 1 | 120 Hz |
| TOUCH | 0.3 | 1 | 150 Hz |
| DEEP | 0.8 | 1 | 80 Hz |
| BOOM | 0.7 | 0.8 | 60 Hz |
| FAT | 0.6 | 1 | 200 Hz |
| BASS ONLY | 1 | 0 | 100 Hz |
Every box is also a line of the console's language, so a pad or a patch can carry its effects in text. The words are the knobs:
