Metallic bells: two frequencies, neither of them yours
Ring modulation: the signal multiplied by a sine at FREQ, which gives you the sum and difference frequencies and neither of them is the note you played. Metallic bells, clangs and robots. MIX lets a little of the original back in.
As RING: X is FREQ, Y is MIX. Touch to engage, lift to let go, HOLD to keep it.
Four to a socket, in order: sound runs through the slots top to bottom. Open the box and every knob is in real units; BYPASS takes it out of the path without losing its settings; the presets are along the top; any knob learns a controller and gets an automation lane.
| Knob | Range | Starts at | Scale |
|---|---|---|---|
| FREQ | 20 Hz to 5000 Hz | 440 Hz | log |
| MIX | 0 to 1 | 1 | linear |
Every box ships with a bank. AS SET is the knobs as you left them; the rest are starting points, each a sound someone wanted often enough to name. Star one and it sits at the front of the bank.
| Preset | FREQ | MIX |
|---|---|---|
| METAL | 440 Hz | 1 |
| BELL | 880 Hz | 0.6 |
| GLASS | 2200 Hz | 0.5 |
| SUB | 55 Hz | 0.8 |
| TREMBLE | 30 Hz | 1 |
| ROBOT | 200 Hz | 0.9 |
| DALEK | 110 Hz | 1 |
Every box is also a line of the console's language, so a pad or a patch can carry its effects in text. The words are the knobs:
