Warmth into grit as you push it
A tube stage: warmth at low DRIVE, grit as you push, with a TONE control that takes the fizz off the top and a LEVEL to put the loudness back where it was. Where a chip's bass gets its weight and a snare gets its crack.
As DRIVE: X is DRIVE, Y is TONE. Touch to engage, lift to let go, HOLD to keep it.
Four to a socket, in order: sound runs through the slots top to bottom. Open the box and every knob is in real units; BYPASS takes it out of the path without losing its settings; the presets are along the top; any knob learns a controller and gets an automation lane.
| Knob | Range | Starts at | Scale |
|---|---|---|---|
| DRIVE | 1 x to 24 x | 4 x | log |
| TONE | 200 Hz to 20000 Hz | 6000 Hz | log |
| LEVEL | -24 dB to 12 dB | -3 dB | linear |
Every box ships with a bank. AS SET is the knobs as you left them; the rest are starting points, each a sound someone wanted often enough to name. Star one and it sits at the front of the bank.
| Preset | DRIVE | TONE | LEVEL |
|---|---|---|---|
| WARM | 2 x | 6000 Hz | -2 dB |
| EDGE | 3.5 x | 8000 Hz | -3 dB |
| CRUNCH | 6 x | 4000 Hz | -4 dB |
| GRIT | 9 x | 3000 Hz | -5 dB |
| DARK | 5 x | 1200 Hz | -3 dB |
| FUZZ | 16 x | 2500 Hz | -8 dB |
| BRIGHT FUZZ | 14 x | 9000 Hz | -8 dB |
| BLOWN | 24 x | 1500 Hz | -10 dB |
Every box is also a line of the console's language, so a pad or a patch can carry its effects in text. The words are the knobs:
