Notches walking up and down
Notches walking up and down the spectrum: an all-pass phaser with RATE, DEPTH, feedback and MIX. Softer than the flanger, it moves the colour of a sound without the metal.
As PHASE: X is RATE, Y is DEPTH. Touch to engage, lift to let go, HOLD to keep it.
Four to a socket, in order: sound runs through the slots top to bottom. Open the box and every knob is in real units; BYPASS takes it out of the path without losing its settings; the presets are along the top; any knob learns a controller and gets an automation lane.
| Knob | Range | Starts at | Scale |
|---|---|---|---|
| RATE | 0.05 Hz to 10 Hz | 0.5 Hz | log |
| DEPTH | 0 to 1 | 0.7 | linear |
| FB | 0 to 0.9 | 0.3 | linear |
| MIX | 0 to 1 | 0.5 | linear |
Every box ships with a bank. AS SET is the knobs as you left them; the rest are starting points, each a sound someone wanted often enough to name. Star one and it sits at the front of the bank.
| Preset | RATE | DEPTH | FB | MIX |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CLASSIC | 0.5 Hz | 0.7 | 0.3 | 0.5 |
| SUBTLE | 0.3 Hz | 0.4 | 0.1 | 0.35 |
| SLOW | 0.15 Hz | 1 | 0.5 | 0.5 |
| DEEP | 0.4 Hz | 1 | 0.8 | 0.6 |
| SWIRL | 0.8 Hz | 0.9 | 0.6 | 0.5 |
| FAST | 3 Hz | 0.5 | 0.2 | 0.5 |
| WOBBLE | 6 Hz | 0.6 | 0.4 | 0.5 |
Every box is also a line of the console's language, so a pad or a patch can carry its effects in text. The words are the knobs:
